BIO

Robert has directed three feature films which have screened in prestigious film festivals such as the Sundance Film Festival and the Stockholm International Film Festival as well as receiving critical praise, awards, and distribution. Through his feature films, Robert has strived to present an original voice, even within the confines of traditional genre filmmaking, taking on subject matter and issues that can challenge and sometimes provoke an audience.

He was awarded the Grand Prize for Best Director at the 2002 Rhode Island International Film Festival for his first feature film "After the Flood." The screenplay for which "After the Flood" is based was also a finalist in the 1997 Slamdance Screenplay Competition. Robert’s second feature, "White of Winter," for which he also wrote the screenplay, was an official selection to the 2003 Sundance Film Festival.

"Godspeed," Robert’s third feature film, premiered in competition at the 2009 CineVegas Film Festival where it was awarded the Special Jury Award for Exceptional Artistic Achievement. The film was subsequently invited to screen at such festivals as the Austin Film Festival, also in competition, and the prestigious Stockholm International Film Festival. "Godspeed" was also awarded The Golden Ring for Best Film at the 2010 Ravenna Nightmare Film Festival in Italy.

Robert’s background also includes producing and editing high profile music videos for such artists as Keith Urban and he has also directed three music videos for singer-songwriter George Adrian.  Two of the music videos incorporated animated elements that led to a deeper interest in this format, with Robert currently working with the Unreal Engine, motion capture and other 3D animation software for cinematics and short films.

Robert is also an experienced editor and post-manager having built a multi-disciplined overview of both production and post-production as well as a passion for not only the creative process but for all things technical.
